Aaron grabbed an arrow out of his quiver and pulled back his bow with ease. He let it fly into a red ring. It seemed to him that the arrow was slowly flying through the air and at the last second it would strike the target right in the middle. His cousin Jacor slapped him on the back.
“Well done no let me try” he pulled back the string of his bow and let the arrow hit the ring close to the one were Aaron’s arrow had hit. He sighed.
“You win again”
“What do you two boys think you doing!” Artimus yelled. A dark shadow was cast upon the wheat field.
Jacor groaned as he reluctantly picked up his scythe and started swinging. Aaron repeatedly swung his scythe. To him the scythe felt more like a stick then a heavy metal blade. The blade went from one side to the other almost as if the scythe wanted the wheat to be cut and the wheat agreed with my scythe, almost as if they were saying
“Hey scythe buddy! Chop me of the ground please.”
Whenever he looked over at Jacor he noticed that his scythe swung it at a odd angle and that he struggled to keep swinging as if it was to heavy or uneven. After Aaron thought that he had cut enough wheat. He slowly walked over to his line of wheat and he grabbed some until he could hold no more and he tied a string around it. Aaron continuously repeated the process of tying up the wheat.
“Hey Aaron could you come help me with this”
“Sure” I replied. Jacor was a loving and caring cousin. Even if he is my cousin he was a brother to me. He had taught me many thinks like how to use a bow or how to swing a scythe and a large assortment of other important tasks. Aaron joyfully jogged over to his brother, happy to repay him somehow.
Vernast was a farming town that went for miles not because there was a lot of people but because it was made up of mostly farms and a couple short streets with a lot of small shops and houses.
“ I bet I can beet you home”
“I know you can” Jacor replied wearily.
“come on”
“Ok but you have to go easy on me”
“Go!” I screamed. As all ways I won. My legs were quicker then his and I took larger steps as if I was gliding over the ground.
Jacor picked up a stick and threw anther one at me. He smacked me with it
“Hey that’s cheating” I smacked him with my stick. He tried to hit me again but I blocked him I smacked him in the stomach and then delivered a quick series of blows. Jacor only managed to maneuver out of the way of three light slashes all the other blows left bruises and scratches. Jacor crawled up off the ground.
“Well I got work to do” and he left. He probably went to the woods to kill something I wish that I could go kill something with him. I am a better aimer then he is.
‘That reminds me were did I put my bow’.
Aaron walked over to the field looking for his bow and there it was lying in an uncut patch of wheat. Tomorrow his brother would leave for Pelegarn. A town were most merchant men would go and trade. They usually came once a year. And that time was between summer and fall when it was easier to travel. Most merchants came to that particular place because it was in the middle of the three main trade routes.
One came from Trinsk and went up the forest and through Pelegarn and then forked at the Ungric Mountains having one go to Rohnd on the North East side of the mountains. And the other part went to Fangor on the North West side of the mountains. Fangor was a the capital of the Fangor empire until they were destroyed by Phaedon the evil king and his little rebellious army. Fangor still remains a large a powerful city but it is still part of the empire. The mountain range went right between Fangor and Rohnd. Rohnd was even built on the side of one of the mountains.
The mountain range was long and the mountains were so big the extended into the clouds and were unnaturally high. Pelegarn was close to other small towns like Shem and Hemlist but was blocked by a huge river that started at the sea and came down by Shem and Hemlist going down the side of the trade route and then going around Pelegarn and continuing into the forest blocking off Shem and Hemlist.
When Jacor was twelve he was aloud to go to Pelegarn and sell his items and travel alone. Ever since his twelfth birthday he had collected various items such as broken shields and knifes. He had only shot one animal in his life and that was when he had company. The only reason why Aaron never hunted was because it was too easy for him and he didn’t like being alone. It just felt wrong, different and ‘scary’. He was afraid of being alone. He sadly walked into the house.
“Where’s Jacor” Artimus asked.
“Hunting” I mumbled.
“Well go get your bow. He can’t be too far!”
“No” Aaron grumbled not willing to be thrown out of is dark mood.
“You and Jacor are leaving tomorrow”
“Fine” he said cheering up a bit. Aaron walked back out side and ran off into the field ignoring bright sunshine and glided into the bright leafy forest.

I don’t know about you, but if you have ever seen a green flaming meteor smashed into the ground, you will have a pretty good idea about the one James and I saw. But this one was buried like fifty feet into the ground and it was about seventy feet wide. The worst part of it all was that everything around it had dissolved. There was also steam coming from the ground where it had hit and then we heard a loud noise. It sounded like a volcano was going to explode.
“CRACK!”
Then the ground started to shake.
“Run for your life!” I screamed and threw my hands in the air.
As James and I ran for our lives the ground behind us began to crack and then little greenish yellow crystals started to creep out of the ground. The closer they were to that big ugly green slab the faster they were growing, and they were getting really tall. From my point of view the highest crystal was about five feet tall and seeing that James was about three feet and eleven inches tall his little brain was probably trying to figure out how scary the crystals were. We ran and ran until we reached the wheat field. As we hid in the wheat trying to figure out what had just happened to us I seemed to be the first one to remember that our parents were home.
“James! Mom and Dad are home!” I said but I hadn’t noticed him run to the back door of the house and open the door and almost shut it. When I did notice he was gone and I saw the door sliding closed. I ran to the door before it closed and held it open and slowly and quietly closed it. I saw a foot zoom past the wall blocking the stair case and then I heard stomping. I ran up the stairs and into my bright green room
What…Bright green?
My room was glowing green, it wasn’t so pretty anymore and so I pulled on the light silver string and my nice shiny cloth went black so no more light could come in and then my room went black. When I turned on the light my room went a harsh shade of gray.
After awhile of trying to make my room the same as it was earlier I went down stairs and I heard my dad snoring so I snuck and got out his shot gun just in case the slab was dangerous and I ran out to the wheat field and up to the hill were me and my brother had seen the green slab and the pointy crystals. I peeked over the hill and saw what I hadn’t seen before.
The crystals were really six clear green pillars that formed a circle.
On the top there was a green ring of that glowy green stuff and it fit right on top of all six pillars. As for the green slab of doom, it was now snow white and it had formed a cube like shape. On all of the sides there was a swirl of yellow and orange and they looked like ninja stars but bigger and swirlyer and the area around had turned pure marble. It didn’t look so dangerous to me so I went in for a closer look. Then I saw what was in that green cube. There was a glass sphere that seemed to be floating in mid air and it was also a bright yellow. The next thing I knew was that the yellow glass ball had cracked and had cast a light wave of yellow on everything in its reach.
The white slab of doom went a light shade of yellow. The thing that was worst of all was that the cube split in four perfectly even pieces and so there now was four rectangular prisms and a glass ball floating in the middle of everything held together by some odd force and then a square of earth fell into the ground. I mean like it fell straight into to the ground which is weird because things don’t just fall into the ground without something making it.
The square hole in the ground that had fallen was in the middle of the rectangular slabs so all the sides of the square hole would have connected to the white rectangular slabs.
I wouldn’t have known that if it wouldn’t have fallen in the first place. The other odd thing was that the sphere was still floating over the square hole in the ground.
That was when I learned to never let curiosity take control of your actions.
I went over to the pillars and picked up a little pointy rock and then I threw it at the glass ball but it stopped in mid air and just fell straight to the ground.
It was like there was an invisible shield around the green pillars.
“Wait they weren’t green any more”
They were the same color as the rectangles. I looked up and noticed that the sky was dark. But how I wondered? Then I looked at the glass ball and every thing around it was so bright that it looked like it was daytime unless I looked up into the dark sky. Then I remembered that my parents might be awake by now so I crawled over the hill and I remembered earlier when James had said “army style.”
As I crawled over the ground to my house I saw a shadow through my window. Then I saw my light go on, then off. No one is allowed in my room. I don’t know about you but if there is anyone in my room I get really mad and people don’t just walk into someone’s room. I jumped up and ran to my house and then slowly closed the door and ran to my room but there was no sign that anything had happened so I jumped into my bed and pulled the covers over me. Then I heard some one coming up the stairs and so I went and hid in my closet just in case the person coming up the stairs was the person that was in my room earlier.
I opened the closet door a crack and peeked out. I saw my dad come in and say “Jake come downstairs. Mom and I need to talk to you about something.”
When my dad had left the room I walked out and closed the closet and rushed down stairs. My parents were waiting for me on the couch.
Suddenly James jumped out of nowhere and yelled “I beat you! Ha!”
As James and I sat down on the stairs my dad started saying “Me and your mom have a new schedule and now you have to baby sit your little brother from ten in the morning to four in the after noon.” James gave me a big a smile and I knew what he was thinking about. He was thinking about the big slab that was now white and cut in four even pieces but he didn’t know that yet.
My mom and dad left the room and my dad poked his head out from around the corner and said “Bed time.”
James and I went to bed and then I started dreaming about the green slab before it had cracked and gone white and everything that had happened while James and I were there.

Chapter 1 THE GREEN GLOW
“Psst! Wake up!”
“What?”
“Re-member?” said a voice. I sighed, Ever since James found out that I wake up early in the mornings to play the computer, he’s been threatening to tell if I don’t get him cereal in the morning. (Not that it’s that bad) but today I just didn’t feel like it.
“Good night” I mumbled half asleep.
”But…please?” James said trying to keep his voice to a whisper. I sighed again. I went through this every morning.
“What did you say?” I said still asleep.
“I said cereal!” James said a little too loudly.
“Fine” I yawned stretching my mouth wide. As we quietly snuck down the stairs something caught my eye. It was a faint glow out in the distance.
“I want my cereal! James wailed.
“Huh” I mumbled. I walked down the stairs and got his cereal ready.
“Crunch!” James’s teeth said.
“Eat more quietly…”
“Sorry I had food in my mouth.” James said between bites of food.
‘It’s still there’ I thought.
“Good night.” I said with a smile and I walked away.
“But Jake?” he said. A baby tear slipped down from his eye.
I kept smiling, it was always fun to see James’s little scared face. James walked away crying, forgetting his cereal which he would get in trouble for later. (He was afraid there were monsters and they eat you if you are alone)
‘Well if Jake is going to sleep I guess I will play on the computer’ James thought. “Hey Jake I’m going to play on the computer”.
“Ok” I said happily.
“Were is that little power button…BOOOOOM!!!!”
The sound was turned to maximum, plus it was hocked to my dad’s huge speakers.
”Jake!” he yelled, ignoring the fact that his parents were probably coming down the stairs this instant.
The stairs rumbled under a pair of heavy footsteps.
“Please be someone else besides Dad” James said
” I wonder if James was stupid enough he turned on the computer?” I thought.
BOOOOM!!!”
‘There goes the computer’ I thought.
I heard stomping, ‘there goes my parents’
I smiled, last year I had pulled the same trick but with my dad’s concert speakers. I tuned my ears into the conversation going on past my door.
“But Jake was awake too.” James screamed.
“Go back to bed”
As soon as I heard James slam his door, I slowly opened my door, it made a small creaking sound, I paused and slowly crept down the stairs, looked out the window and there was that same strange glow. I quickly scurried past my parent’s room. As I walked into the computer room I climbed on the chair and checked if the sound was on maximum. Luckily it wasn’t.
‘What was that website called?’ I wondered .Oh yeah that’s what it is.
“Wham you stupid space jerks.” After several hours of killing space jerks and other space guys, I ran up the stairs not caring if anyone heard, they would simply think that it was James anyway. I jumped in my bed which was orange with red swirls and yellow sparks coming from the middle. The room was white with barely visible shadowy swirls. The floor was grayish carpet. The door was a very light tanish white. The window had a white shiny cloth hung over it, which glowed a bright white when the sun was up, illuminating the whole room. The white light that came into the room was reflected by the rest of the bright colors defeating the purpose of a light bulb. On the other hand, James’s room was a home for worms and other slimy things. He never put anything away. Once I had walked into his room and there was candy rappers all over the room, followed by sticky and gooey chocolate and Carmel. My parent’s weren’t very happy that day. My parents room was all white. But I think my room is still the best room in the house.
I sat on my bed and pulled out my video game controller. Lucky for me I have the T.V. in ‘my’ room there was also a bad thing about the T.V. being in my room, my parents let him come in here so he could play on the Playstation 2. I always play the Playstation until my parent’s come and wake me up, but today was different. They did not wake me up. I thought that it was odd so I went down stairs and found out that they had left. This was my chance to go see what the glow was. I was about to step out the back door, ‘when’ James set foot in the kitchen.
“Um hi …do you want go exploring with me?” I said.
He bolted up the stairs, I ran up into my room and started to get ready when I saw the same bright glow out of my window. I got ready as fast as I could and bolted down the stairs to the kitchen window and I saw the same glow. ‘What in the world’ I thought.
. When James emerged from his dirty lair (his room) he looked like he was ready to climb K2, “James were just going over there I said pointing out of the window”
James told me that he had seen a green glow out of his window. Then he started acting like a detective and humming the theme song from the Pink Panther.
Oh great I thought.
I secretly left the room, went out the back door of the house and ran towards the greenish light, but the weird thing was that it seemed to glow more brightly the higher the sun got. I looked behind me and saw my brother. “Wait for me” he cried. He found me, I thought. As I was standing there waiting for my brother. I saw a car pull in the drive way and in the to front seats were my parents “RUN!” I screamed as I ran towards the nearest hill which had a strange light green tint to it. As James turned around and he saw the car too, and sadly the closet hill to him was the one I was hiding behind.
After for what seemed like forever James said. “Army style” and he crawled away laughing, but I risked running and ran past him. I noticed he was staring at something and that was when I saw what was making the green glow and I wished that I hadn’t looked.

There is this thing called the NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and you are supposed to start on November1st and then if you have 50,000 words at the end of the month you win! (which I want to do). But I am not that into it, so I am not so sure if I should join or not.
But that’s just the normal one, there are other challenges like 30,000 words, but the thing the really popped off the page was the big red word CONTESTS and under it was The Young Voices Foundation Rewrite Contest It was free and the number1 story got 75$ and saying that it was free I thought that it was a good deal.
The other thing was the Kids Are Authors Contest and if you won you got your book published by Scholastic and sold all over the country.

Prologue
“Fire” Arrows hissed through the night in large swarms, from both sides of the wall. Knocking down solders on there way. Ruby tears wet the earth. Screams filed the air. Swords clashed with shields. This would be the end of the once great city. Little Three year old Aaron ran through the empty streets of El’naria, following his uncle Artimus along with his five year old cousin, Jacor. Unaware of were he was going. The gates burst open followed by the empires solders, Aaron and his cousin ran for the escape door blocked by a thin wall of bricks. His uncle had already knocked down the bricks and was crawling through the large square hole in the wall tilted at a down word angle. He stood up head to the ceiling running behind his uncle. They came out nearly twenty feet past the wall. Jacor picked up Aaron and he ran off after his father. Aaron twisted in his arms, looking over Jacor’s shoulder he saw the wall on fire and the buildings burning. Parents and children screamed their final words as they joined the fire, leaving nothing but bone and smoke. Now a billowing fire filled the city growing with every second. Smoke filled the air as the city burned to the ground. No one escaped alive except Aaron, Jacor and Artimus. Aaron watched the colorful fire as his home tumbled to the ground along with the screams of the friends and family not knowing that they were gone for ever.
“Were is daddy”
“Dead” Jacor replied.
“Where’s that?”

Do you like to play games… If you don’t then you won’t enjoy this post and before you go any further, have you ever heard of Runescape or Funorb, if not then go read some other post.
Anyway I just want to ask you Runescape players a few question’s. what is your characters name and level. I also wanted to give you a few tips on how get people in your Dungeoneering party.
1. when there are lots of people in a barrier, start a party with the lowest level of the barrier. and wait for them to run out and then invite them.
2. Don’t wait long to start, or they will all leave your party.
3. Once started don’t take your time to build armor and pickup the food on the tables or they will leave.
4. Don’t take money that the enemy drops (unless they don’t want it)
5. No matter what you do, do not make them mad.
6. Have fun.
